Task parameters :

• List maps with identical backgrounds

• I'll get new backgrounds from Complex Simple and implement them

• I'll add a few new maps

Simple indeed. Lets just use the simpler backgrounds though. Some of his backgrounds are too zany!

So far I've planned the following :

1. Battle for higara - add entire map, change starting positions
2. Epopea 2 – add entire map, needs new background
3. Agamnon – add entire map, needs new background
4. Blue shift – add entire map, needs new background, remove megalith
5. Cloud atlas – add map, needs a new background
6. Deep impact – add map, change background
7. Eternity – add entire map
8. Flash point - use it's background
9. Fulcrum - add map, change background(maybe)
10. Green flash - use it's background
11. Inferno- use it's background
12. starry night - use it's background
13. Solstice - use it's background
14. supernova - use it's background(must have)
15. Zeitgeist - use it's background


Not going to include the majority of planets from these backgrounds, of course.

Looks good. There's nearly enough backgrounds there for the maps that need to be changed. Do we need to ask SW for permission to,deconstruct his maps, or did he give open permission for people to use stuff, don't remember. Won't be a problem though.

I do not agree with the map that's above the planet. For obvious physics reasons. Not to start about how it doesn't fit the Homeworld Universe.

I am sure that an advanced culture capable of accessing hyperspace is able to use spaceships in low orbit.

Are there any other maps from other mods that we could add also? Mikali (Relic forums) made a few nice ones some time back, if I remember correctly.

I did a couple of big test maps a while back that might be worth adding if I can find them.

Sure, if you can place stuff on dropbox, that would be great. Or just link/pm.
I didn't look into many other mods. It was rather practical to use Complex Simple because all the megalith is already in place. Meanwhile I found even 4 more maps that were suitable with tiny edits - the added stuff is mainly 4 and 6 player maps, since there was only a single suitable 2 player map.

I'll dig them out. Both are 6 player maps, designed for multiplayer heavy combat.

Task complete.
Some backgrounds remain double, however there is no more triple and quad usage.

Need to make an image and save it in tga format. The overlay is a psd format (for info about the map)
I really like them btw. For maps of this size we'll really need a larger unit cap.

Ok, no problems there, except how to make the image, or is it just a screen shot!

Glad you like them, btw. These are the maps I used to test the fleet carrier I was working on, and to test how big a map could be before the AI couldn't use it (both are pretty much the maximum size). I have a third underway, which i am now motivated towards finishing Very Happy
I greatly increased the unit caps for them, by 10 or 20 times. No problems with lag.
A few years a go i had the intention of getting a map making guild going on complex (starting as an intern group), but it never got going.
