NC: How the mechanics are going to work

This thread quickly outlines any changes in how NC's game mechanics will differ from CE. More detail can be found at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7zqabh15zblntnb/IGBC%27s%20Core%20editing%20notes.docx .
Fusion: No obvious changes, rate may differ slightly
Experience: Experience is now only gained for Combat
Ranks: No Change
Viper Missiles: Delayed; may not be in first release
Maintenance: If you don't pay your maintenance, then all construction is halted.
RU storage: No Change
Research score: No Change
Crew: Crew pods are now removed. There is a new recruitment rate calculation, Hgn recruitment rate is effected by the number of modules on the crew station, the vgr rate is effected by the number of production cap ships in the fleet. Evacuation modules are delayed; may not be in first release.
Modular weapons and assets: Enhanced Flexibility in code.
Mining Bases and Large Destroyable Asteroids: Mining bases and destroyable asteroids become combined. The large asteroids are generally attackable, and also capture-able. If you destroy it then it drops lots of salvage, if you capture it then you can install a mining base subsystem on it, which generates RU’s and puts them in a pod which goes and retires itself for RU’s. The Miner missiles will not be in NC.
Other Megaliths: No Change
The Following Items where completely removed from CE in NC: Research Burn; Powerups; Explosion Damage; Drones and Patchers; Experience Based weaponry; Ship name Pings.
