Anti-Missile Drones
Having seen the testing by the REARM mod, here and putting the control on the Battlecruiser.
Is this a feature the team would be interested in looking into? The drone frigate would available with research like the defense field frigate. And I would suggest that the Battlecruiser or Battleship have the option of building a drone control system or the defense field generator or one of the three weapon batteries. We would have to do some testing to determine the rank and experience requirements for each subsystem.

Re: Anti-Missile Drones
They certainly look interesting, and well executed in game..
Worth considering as a defence system for big capital ships, Team?

Re: Anti-Missile Drones
Gonna be real blunt: No.
I think it's not fitting the ideals we're aiming at (Bringing Homeworld back to Homeworld.). In my opinion, it just doesn't fit the game.
Not to begin over how OP it'd be because missiles would then just be a nuisance instead of a treat.

Good points, especially OP.
Could it not be adaptable as a medium accuracy close defence system for the MS, I wonder, or as a static mine field — target ships instead of missiles.

Re: Anti-Missile Drones
The only issue I see with this is that anything that drones can do, you've pretty much already got units that DO that. So it becomes a redundant unit. I mean, it would be interesting to see minefields come into play more often... maybe a ship that have minelaying drones?

Re: Anti-Missile Drones
Agreed. No need for role overlapping. We got mine laying units also, it's just not a very viable mechanic.
Re: Anti-Missile Drones
A pity, it's a nice effect, the drones. It would be just eye candy I guess.

Re: Anti-Missile Drones
What is good though is cluster missiles. We could consider those cluster upgrade to Vaygr for bolstering their missile typed warships. While Hiigaran should be left without anti-missile defense platforms.
Edit. I think that the best decision in anti-missile weaponry is to keep it on gun platforms for both side.

Re: Anti-Missile Drones
Yeah, we could make the missile BC an anti-strike craft if cluster missiles were present for Vaygr. It would also be healthy to do that to one of the battle capitals.
