4 Possible New Maps

So, I downloaded about 160 maps in several maps packs, and I must recognize that I have been kinda disappointed. Indeed, only a few of them are really greats, imo. A lot are either too small, either too empty, either too badly designed etc... So I tested them all, and i made a list of the best ones. They are generally tall, with a lot of ressources scattered everywhere, and eventually some big dust clouds. I uploaded the list on Dropbox, so everyone could test it and give his opinion.
Here are the names:
Vertical Horizon 6P
Scattered 6P
Iron Curtain 4P
Talcorn Nebula 6P

Do you need to register with Dropbox to access them?

• they need pictures
• too many pebbles, best thing would be to get rid of those tiny dots
• remove ships/megalith that doesn't do anything
• look into starting positions

If those three criteria are met, they'll be among the best maps in the mod

We'd likely need permission from the original map author(s) to make these changes.

There are a lot of third party maps out there. I located and downloaded them all. A few would be suitable imo, with or without modifications. CMG will evaluate them once we get a few recruits on board...

I don't know anything about making maps for HW2 but I can play a few games on new maps
and tell you if I like it or not and what needs changing. Fair enough?

I would have join the Map Dev Guild with pleasure, but my studies take me too much time :/ But during holyday i would edit maps I think :')

Hey guys I have been wanting to make some new maps for us, so I started toying around with Oni's Complex MapBuilder that I had downloaded from the old forum. It doesn't work, all I can do is get starting positions and RU fields but nothing else. Post up a working map builder and I will gladly work on some new maps! I have been really longing to make a map with atleast 1000km for that realistic deep vastness of space feel.. Kind of like the "You Can't Go Home Again" Map.. but not SO ridiculously huge as 4500km x3

There are several map making programs. I'll post details of them shortly. The are all old though, designed in the days of XP.

I remember that the most used one doesn't work on Win7.

So, just need pictures, positions indicators, and useless megaliths removal; or maybe you didn't remove pebbles from these maps? (Just asking :p)

I will remove the pebbles and megalith if someone does the picture stuff.

I'll probably do this next weekend so!
