Would it be possible to name BBs and MS with subsystem letters like it was in rearm mod? I always found that was a great idea, mainly for the "homeworld background" itself. In rearm, you can rename too many ships. This function should be available only for the battle masters like BB, and dreadnought imo. And making ship naming avaibable after a certain amount of XP could be really could too. However, rearm's letter are a bit... too much white, and too blocky. It doesn't fit the hull when you zoom out.
Just givin' an idea Smile
Maybe this requires to be asked to Pouk; if he's still working in rearm.

NB: if letters were of the same color as the secondary player's color, with a light grey edging, that would be awesome. Dunno if it's possible :/

Meh... I don't like the whole letter/name idea. Just doesn't fit the Homeworld UUniverse.
It's fun, I'll give you that, but I'm not up for it.

Also: The names of the ships are a Complex feature and not a Vanilla feature.

I'd agree with Fara here, it's kind of un-Homeworldy.
