need for map editing program

i know there is already such software out there.
but its all mostly outdated, bugged. just getting it to work can eat quite nerves.
so perhaps a new kind of map editor could be a good project that everyone would be happy for.
hell, if i had knowledge to program i'd made it already..

I will be uploading an archive with the known map making programs shortly. also, the map making forum C.E.M.D will be created. Hopefully we can get things going then.

EDIT: Oni is developing his map maker still, over at the complex forums. I would suggest that you try it and ask for assistance from him in understanding how to use it. It looks quite complex (heh!), but may well be the best one to use.
