Where should Complex Enhanced have it's multiplayer based?
Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
I'd say Comodo. It's easy to use. No ads, no bullshit. Works like a charm and unlimited room space. The other option would be Tunngle. It's a good program, but somepeople will have connection problems.

I never play on multiplayer anymore, so my vote is up for grabs

Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
I've never used Comodo, but I have had good experiences with Tunngle, so my rather uninformed vote goes to the only one I am familiar with!

I like Tunngle, It's good a good fast connection, and it's got a tank of a firewall. I've never used the others, I'm sure they're good too, but I gotta go with what I know. Especially when it comes to networking

I say lobby with 2 billion RUs for Tunngle service. Also make it illegal to use the other services in the case of Galactic security. Sarcasm aside Tunngle's only issue is the fact it is very tempermental when it comes to firewalls.

Aaaaand there's where the portforwarding-part jumps in. Unfortunately... Most people do not have access to their router or do not know how to port forward.
Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
tunngle has UNpN Port forwarding, which will punch a hole in most firewalls

Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
Yup. But that didn't work for me seen as my router doesn't accept input done not by hand...
Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
some router's have to have UNpN enabled (ther'll be a checkbox somewhere)

I have a very high standing within another VPN's network, if we need more serious support. It's called voobly.
Check it at www.voobly.com
For now this is honestly not a core issue however.

If it is possible to get a playerbase of more than 40 players, a new option is available. It's called voobly. They have ladders, active moderation and very strong other features. Check it out at www.voobly.com .

Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
The new version of Tunngle came out which seems to be working better for connectivity, plus, it really isn't that hard to do a port forward or just use uPnP. I tried comodounite but it was literally destroying my laptop as it tries to throw out the windows network adapter and use its own... made my laptop crash several times a day until I unistalled it. the same Homeworld 2 - Complex Mod search on Tunngle reveals the Complex mod room which I have been playing in. I've convinced others to download C. E. V.8.5.2. As well as there were already a couple of players there like Niarro who already are on the up and up and have it ready to play. As long as you guys keep working on the new fixes and updates we will test them out in multiplayer as you have already seen how our first match turned up some issues with the Sensor Distortion probe as well as it took my Battleship ramming his mobile inhib to destroy it. I implore more players here to get onto Tunngle so we can start testing for 2vs2 games next and see if they have as much desync problems as Beghins Complex has... Maybe someday we can have these kind of games and play them all the way through without someone crashing? Getting people to get their ethernet cables out and have a solid connection is also an issue as a lot of people are always on wi-fi and may not have access to a direct cable connection.

Re: Poll for Multiplayer location
Wait, Comodo tried to throw Windows' network adapter out...? Whut, how?! Never seen that, have been using Comodo Unite since 4-5 years ago. Even more if my friends speak the truth.
Anyway, Comodo has endless rooms, is pretty secure and works the same as Tunngle. Though I still recommend Tunggle, Comodo isn't a bad program.
