Hi folks!
First my appreciations for the work you are doing here.
It is really a lot of fun to play complex enhanced!
Much easier and straight forward than complex.
I would like to bring in an idea for the multiplayer game:
What if two or more human players could control a fraction together?
I figure that it would make fun to have teams playing against each other like this,
since it offers a lot of possibilities regarding tactics in battles.
Yes, at the beginning it does not make much sense, but in the later game it could be quite useful.

I would also like to ask if there are already possibilities to give several ship groups specific formations.
I know I can choose between different fomations for a selected group.
But combining them in a comprehensive way is not possible as I believe.
This is just a thought, not a well thought-out proposal.
The reason I am thinking about it is this new movie "Ender's game".
I read the book awhile ago and I was fascinated by the tactics Ender used in the battle room.
And in some way homeworld is still a 2D-like game - at least it is still complicated to really think in 3D there.
It would be really cool to enhance the use of the 3D-space a bit more by implementing 3D-tactics.
Maybe by changing the camera perspective?

You can`t control a faction together with someone, BUT you can "donate" entire fleets. This effectively makes your wish granted.
For enhancing the 3d aspect, we have changed the way ships move. Now they are facing in the direction they are moving.
With this in place, there are a lot of ways to get enemy ships off guard, while they are facing the wrong way.

I can't see why two players cannot work together (as 2 fleets) or against each other on a scripted objective, however linear campaign progression would not be easily achievable in HW2.

Devising multiplayer campaign levels could be tricky, and time consuming, however a re jigging of Ascension may be possible.

this feature exists in starcraft 1, don't ask me why a game 15 years old has this feature and no modern game in existence has it....
