Post-explosion smoke-cloud tweaks, to reduce lag • To be assigned
There is a considerable factor of lag caused by the smoke clouds spawned by exploding ships. While it does add to the spectacular-ish feeling of the game, the consequences are unacceptable - too much stuttering never helps.
Two things that would help :
• Reduce the clouds' lifetime by ~70%
• Reduce size by ~20%
Suggest further tweaks.
If anyone knows where these are handled in the files, I'll take care of it, btw.

the lifetime reduction should do most of the work there. Would reducing the number of colours make any difference?

We'll probably use the new vanilla ones, locking.
