I played around with CNLPepper's Perpixel shaders last night, and the do in fact work with CE's ships. To implement them someone just needs to copy them into the shaders folder; however to have any visible effect we need to make soms very dark maps so that the lighting effects can be seen. I'll put all the needed files in my personal backups later.

The other thing to note is that to take full advantage of these shaders we need to implement bump maps on the ships. hw2_2.0 has already done them for the stock HW2 models.

On the permissions note: CNLPepper gave me permission to use this in MODEST, and he is no longer active, so I think we can use them without issue.

Okay, this sounds good. I'm sure we can get some maps from other mods.
Are we to replace the stock models as well?

models no, It's a lot of importing textures and setting materials, very boring

Let's just have the new shaders in place, we do have a few dark maps now. We can get more later.
Also, there is no immediate need for maps, we can just get backgrounds.
There still are duplicate backgrounds to replace.

Attempted this, but all megalith textures are broken, when implementing per pixel shaders. 
Postponing task until a solution is found.

Let`s attempt it in Rebirth then. I tried that already and somehow it did not work.
