The crew does go down, but the interface refresh rate for that is a bit slow. It will take a lot of work to speed that up, because we still have lag issues.


Not sure if we can get vertical outlines for clouds. I find it doubtful.

Will change the flight behavior.

So yeah... just played a game where I spammed nothing but shirys and EMP destroyers, it was pretty silly. Vaygr hard AI couldn't do anything and I went through their fleet basically without ever stopping my destroyer's advance. 3 destroyers and 19 shirys with no losses, took just a few minutes, that time mostly being spent crossing the 10-20km length, heh.

The vaygr needs to put pressure on the Hiigaran to avoid these things from happening. Obviously an AI doesn't know how to properly do that.

Btw, I tested the corvette change and the results are horrible. The shots are simply not hitting targets like this - the ships are very much intentionally made like they are now.

I know some of them, at least, are made to dive and strafe like fighters. The laser corvettes, for instance. The hiig plasma corvettes have a turret on top, though, they shouldn't need to dive and strafe, I think?

But this also means that for the swarm corvettes, for instance... when they dive in at resource ops, they've going to continue colliding with everything and basically killing themselves off quite quickly. o.o; Is there a way to reduce their dive time, perhaps?

Oh, also, the vgr concussion cannon frigates are NOT in anyway way shape or form good versus corvettes, lol. Their weapons are fix-mounted, forward facing. o.o; Not going to be useful vs corvettes like that

Did a little experimenting with shirys and modular destroyers, dunno if you guys wanna hear the results. You may already be aware of the OPness, lol 6x kinetic cannons, specifically.

Edit: Oh yes, an annoying behiavour I noticed with the heavy cannon frigs: Once you get the mortar missiles (which really don't seem to do much) the frigates stop trying to get within cannon range, quite happy to stay at mortar distances

We'll look into the corvette flight paths during 8.6's testing.
If you check the change log you'll see that the modular destroyers wont be able to go fully for EMP plasma guns. The other modular guns need severe testing. Kinetic guns are easily absorbed by defense fields, mind you.

Heavy cannon frigates and many others do as you said, I don't think we can do anything about that. Order a move command after selecting your targets.

Concussion frigates might need re-designing. 8.6 is almost ready and I'd like to build up a balancing/testing department to make all this work easier.

8.6.1 - possible bug - all Combat System cost 10 RU, level 5 costs 10000 RU.
